Relax into Exhilaration
The PADI Drift Diver Specialty course teaches you how to enjoy going with the flow as you scuba dive down rivers and use ocean currents to glide along. It feels like flying – except that you’re underwater using scuba equipment. Drift diving can be relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. If this sound like fun, then the Drift Diver course is for you.
Along with drift diving techniques and procedures:
- Receive an introduction to drift diving equipment – floats, lines and reels.
- Get an overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects.
- Practice with buoyancy control, navigation and communication during two drift dives.
- Learn techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group as you float with the current.

This course is open to divers who are:
- At least 12 years old
- Certified as a PADI Open Water Diver level or equivalent
- Able to either answer NO to all questions on the standard Medical History Form or secure a physician’s approval prior to the start of class

This course consists of:
- Self study
- One classroom session
- Two open water training dives

Self study takes place at the comfort of your home. Classroom session takes place right here at Squalo Divers. Optional open water dives take place at one of more than 50 dive sites that we have to offer.
Drift Diving Specialty classes start at any time. Classroom session is done during regular store hours. Open water training dives are done any day of the week. All activities take place by appointment only.

- All instruction
- Two open water training dives

- Certification card processing
