THE CAVES

a close up of a coral

The Caves is shallow series of ledges located about 2 miles north from the Port Everglades Inlet. A series of 16 mooring balls mark the broken ledge varying in depth from 20 to 30 feet.  This reef consists of a wall of tall ledges that create small caves just large enough for nurse sharks and large moray eels to nap in. Divers regularly encounter lobsters and small turtles hanging out on the reef during the day.
